Women's Fashion Retail
Women's Specialty retailing continues to be an increasingly competitive market, where perfect balances are essential. For example, brand recognition is a very high priority with shoppers, but the same customers want to feel that their choices and selections are unique. Fashion forward environments are expected to properly backdrop the merchandise, but customers also respect construction cost restraint and subliminally read this as a factor in a total value message. Many retailers understand all of this, but to deliver on that understanding requires a well-defined and finely tuned merchandising and operating machine.
WJCA has contributed to the delivery efforts of many retailers that are successfully competing in these markets. And we are particularly proud of having designed several hundred stores for several of these retailers. Successful competition in this space does, in part, come from replication. Customers appreciate the familiarities that replication provides, but they also like pleasant surprises. Our clients seem to understand this dichotomy and WJCA associates listen closely for these opportunities and balances.
Most of WJCA's staff has retail backgrounds and bring the related experiences and sensitivities to specialty projects and processes. In these relationships, we strive to function as much like an internal department as we do an outside consultant. We recognize that we have the same bosses-the customers.
